John Stewart (Jack) Darrell, CFA, founded this firm in 1975.  Prior to this time he was a registered representative with Shields, Model Roland and Thomson, McKinnon, Auchincloss in New York.  He graduated from St. Paul's School in Brooklandville, Maryland and received his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1964.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has served on the C.F.A. Grading Staff.  He has been a Director and Secretary of the Albemarle County Industrial Authority, served on the University of Virginia Medical Center Advisory Board, and the Board of St. Anne's Belfield School.  Jack and his wife, Renee, have three daughters and one son.

Charles G. (Charlie) King, CFA, joined Darrell & King in 1986.  From 1973 to 1986 he was a senior portfolio manager and research analyst with Chase Investment Counsel Corp.  From 1964 to 1973 he headed a $450 million Trust & Estate Portfolio Unit and was Director of Research for the Wachovia Bank and Trust Company of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Charlie's education includes a B.B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) from Wake Forest University in 1962 and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1964.  He is a member of the CFA Grading Staff and has taught Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management courses for the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.   In addition, he has served on the Board of Trustees of Averett College in Danville, Virginia. Charlie and his wife, Carole, have a daughter and a son.

Stewart Darrell joined Darrell & King in 2005.  From 2002 to 2005, he was an Investment Counselor in the Private Client Group of Fisher Investments, Inc. in Woodside, CA.  At Fisher Investments Stewart was responsible for over 150 high net worth client relationships and served as their liaison with the firm’s Investment Policy Committee.  From 1998 to 2001, he was an Associate and Senior Associate with Scott-Macon, Ltd., a New York based investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in 1997.  His wife’s name is Darcy.

Elizabeth P. (Beth) Morris, Assistant Investment Counselor, was Administrative Assistant to the President of National Research Corporation, where she was responsible for the critical functions of the Company's financial management systems.  In addition, Beth was Head Researcher with supervisory responsibilities for other employees, maintained and upgraded computer applications, and served as office manager, prior to joining us.  Beth graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia in 2004.  With our Company, Beth is now responsible for client reports, computer utilization, company bookkeeping, coordinating and assisting in trading activities with brokers, custody banks, and office management. She is well versed in our investment decision‑making process, and also enjoys communi­cating with clients and prospective clients.  Beth and her husband Greg have a son.
